FAQ
What is the mission of Princeton AI Learning Academy?
Our mission is to equip students with the skills, mindset, and ethical foundation they need to thrive in an AI-powered world. We believe that technology should amplify human creativity, connection, and critical thinking, not replace it. As a society, we saw what happened when social media outpaced our ability to guide kids through it. With AI, we have a second chance to do it right. Through engaging, age-appropriate workshops, we help students become thoughtful, responsible, and innovative users of AI, not just passive consumers.
How do you teach responsible AI use to kids?
Responsible use is woven into every part of the workshop. Students learn how to interact with AI tools safely and ethically—emphasizing digital boundaries, fact-checking, and understanding the limits of what AI can do. We help them think critically about the information they receive and reflect on the impact their choices can have when using these powerful tools.
My child already uses AI tools like ChatGPT at home. Why do they need this program?
That’s exactly why our programs matter. While kids may already be using AI, most aren’t being taught how to use it effectively or responsibly. Our workshops provide structure, guidance, and context, showing students how to ask better questions, evaluate answers, and use AI as a creative and strategic partner for learning, problem-solving, and self-expression.
What do students actually do in the workshops?
Our 90-minute sessions are focused, hands-on experiences where students work directly with large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT or Gemini. They’ll complete guided activities based on real-world applications, such as writing with AI, brainstorming passion projects, exploring ethical dilemmas, or learning how to check AI-generated content for accuracy. Each workshop is designed to be engaging, empowering, and immediately relevant.
Is this just for kids who are into coding or technology?
Not at all! These workshops are designed for all curious learners, not just future programmers. Whether your child is artistic, entrepreneurial, scientific, or simply loves to ask big questions, our sessions show how AI can be used to support their interests in a responsible way. No prior experience is needed, just an open mind and a willingness to explore.
How do you make sure AI doesn’t replace real learning or thinking?
That’s one of our core principles. AI should enhance learning, not replace it. Our workshops are designed to teach students how to use AI as a tool for deeper thinking, not shortcut answers. We focus on skills like asking meaningful questions, evaluating responses, and using AI to brainstorm, revise, and explore ideas. Students are guided to stay in control of the process, using AI as a partner, not a crutch.
